Exploring the World Via Your Computer

I set up 2 RSS feeds - one to keep me current as to when new Chinese and Korean DVDs are added to the collection and another posting exciting travel tidbits. This photo shows the night lights of Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

Flickr Rules!!

Dave Anasco who used to work @ HCL bugged me to open a Flickr account and after my February 2007 trip to Costa Rica, I finally took his advice. I've since joined 2 Flickr groups in an attempt to give and get photo feedback, but haven't found the groups to be too active. The picture on this post was taken from our porch looking at active Arenal volcano. You could actually hear the volcano rumble and at night see molten lava spewing down the sides. Equally impressive were the unearthly noises of the howler monkeys in the middle of the night!

Maxfield Parrish in My Backyard

I wanted to add a picture of a purple coneflower to my earlier post about gardening, but didn't figure out how until after I had already put the post on my blog. The pincushion part of the flower is so amazing - even under less than stellar lighting conditions, it looks luminescent.

Turned On To My MP3 Player

Just as I didn't think I'd ever create a blog, I wouldn't have purchased an MP3 player. BUT yesterday I took my new toy home, updated the software, and am ready to download some tunes. I'm already looking forward to working in the garden and listening to my favorite songs. Speaking of gardening, it's amazing how something as rote as deadheading flowers can create such a feeling of peacefulness. I love staying in my backyard until lightning bugs provide the only remaining natural light. Not to break the mood, but has anyone taken advantage of the 100 free songs from etunes?
